Here at Skye Highland Adventure Centre, we take the safety of our guests and staff incredibly serious. In response to COVID-19, we are dedicated to going above and beyond local and national guidelines to keep everyone safe and comfortable.

We will provide a full refund for vouchers and gift cards if we are forced to close due to Covid-19 restrictions.

We have instituted the following Coronavirus (COVID–19) safety procedures for the 2021 season:

  • Limited Group Sizes – Avoid the crowds and masses with us, a medium-sized company. Additional trip times added to maintain smaller groups.

  • Private Activities Available – Request a private activity for your group.

  • Disinfect – All equipment, restrooms, changing rooms, and vehicles disinfected after each trip following official health recommendations.

  • Sanitary Food Prep – Following Food Standard Agency food handling guidelines.

  • No Contact Check Out – Everything available online including your photos and retail items.

  • Employees will wear facial coverings in all situations where it does not cause additional risk to one’s health.

  • Daily symptom screening including temperature readings and questioning for all staff.

The outdoor activities industry has also sought to develop best practices to safely operate during the phased approach of reopening the economy. We are confident that adventure companies can provide safe trips for our guests and employees. Some of the protocols are highlighted here:

  • Daily symptom screening including temperature readings and questioning.

  • Assign work stations that are 2m apart for indoor employees.

  • Frequent hand washing throughout the day. Access to hand sanitiser.

  • Employees will be updated daily on any new protocols as conditions change.

Guest Check-in Process

  • Staff will provide a no contact check-in for guests when possible.

  • Signage at entry doors will display procedures to explain the movement of guests through our facilities.

  • Occupancy will be managed by staff.

  • Additional check-in times will reduce the volume of people arriving at the same time.

  • Guests will sign digital waivers when appropriate to eliminate contact.

  • Hand sanitiser will be available in the office, retail areas and restrooms.

  • All restrooms, touch screens, changing rooms, handles and high contact areas will be cleaned and sanitized after each tour rotates through.

Trip Size

  • The people per group average on our adventures in 2019 was 6 guests per group +1 guide, so group size is well under 8.

  • Trip sizes will be reduced to maintain proper social distancing.

  • All equipment will be cleaned and disinfected after every trip. This includes life jackets, wetsuits, helmets, paddles and boats.

Cleaning and Sanitizing

  • All cleaning and sanitizing will be done using procedures and products verified by the NHS. Hand sanitiser will be available where handwashing may not be.

In these unprecedented times, we do ask for patience and kindness from our guests. We realize that different states and regions have different guidelines, and we here in Skye work hard to be in full compliance with the NHS as well as Government procedures. If you have any questions about these policies and procedure, please feel free to contact us.

Please respect the efforts of our staff while we do our very best to help us all still live the adventure.
