Doug joined the British Army’s Elite Royal Green Jackets as a young soldier. He served across the world in Northern Ireland, Iraq, Kosovo, and Afghanistan.
During his Military career, he trained soldiers in leadership, navigation, physical training, weapons, tactics and team building.
After being injured in Afghanistan Doug embraced a new career in adventure based on his skill set.
Doug left school with no education at 14 years old, a so-called problem child he joined the military to prove he could achieve what everyone thought he could not. He excelled at soldiering and built a career. He regained his lost education. His passion for inspiring people to overcome adversity or fear is infectious.
His passion for coaching and delivery of a sense of achievement shine brightly.
Trough his combat leadership experience and military training background Doug is a highly motivated and determined CEO who ensures excellence at all levels.

Gus has his perfect job! This lad has an unparalleled passion for adventure activities and all things outdoors. He has worked in the Outdoor Adventure industry locally for over 20 years, coaching outdoor pursuits to schools and youth groups; his enthusiasm and energy inspiring hundreds of youngsters to get outside and get active.
Sharing the adventure paradise in which we live is Gus's driving force, and as co-founder of Skye Highland Adventures, he has created the perfect platform to show off the amazing outdoor resource of the Skye and Lochalsh area. Our Cycling Director is Alex Glasgow; a man obsessed with mountain biking! Alex lives locally and has had a lifetime of riding bikes, traveling on bikes, and racing bikes. After years of cycle touring around the world in his youth, Alex has had an impressive competing career, including winning three British National Mountain Bike Championships, as well as turning his hand to the grueling Celtman Extreme Triathlon – which he also won!
Alex has been a qualified mountain bike guide for over 12 years and is one of the most respected and experienced guides in Scotland. He is also a well-known Adventurer; both Alastair Humphreys and Mark Beaumont turned to Alex in organizing Adventure projects in our area, and in 2017 Alex supported Mark on his World Record smashing circumnavigation Artemis World Cycle.
Occasionally referred to as the ‘Cheshire Cat’, Alex’s comfortable and relaxed guide style is always accompanied by a warm smile. Without a doubt, he is the man to steer you around the amazing local trails we have on our doorstep.
